The Executive Chairman of Ado Central Local Community Development Area, Engineer Augustine Oluwatoyin Ojo, her wife, Mrs Mary Martha Toyin-Ojo and Her Excellency, the Wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji has witnessed the commissioning and the cutting of the tape for the Eleyowo Ultra Modern Shopping Plaza, the Arowa Lock-Up Shops and the flagging off of grants and trader money to a total of 150 widows and market women in the State.

Giving his address at the Eleyowo Market in Ereguru in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday, the Ado Central LCDA Chairman, Engineer Augustine Oluwatoyin Ojo narrated how the construction of the shopping complex commenced on the 11th of September, 2024 in line with the infrastructural plan of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration 6 – points agenda across the 38 LCDA’s and LGA’s in the State.

Ojo expressed his joy and appreciation to God who made the project a reality despite the disposition of those who believed the idea of the project would be a mirage and an impossible mission. 

Ojo, during his address announced his decision to name the Ultra Modern Shopping Complex in honour of Her Excellency, the wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, in appreciations for her support for the Council.

The LCDA Chairman however expressed the hope that the new shopping complex will help in achieving an improved economy in the Council as well as an  increment in the Internally Generated Revenue for the LCDA. 

He also revealed that the new shopping complex will serve as economic nerve centre to improve the trading activities in the Council Area.

He also assured the people of the LCDA to expect more developmental projects owing to the approval already granted by the Management.

Flagging off the presentations of grants and trader money as gifts to about 150 women totaling a sum of N2 million, the wife of Ado Central LCDA Chairman, Mrs Mary Martha Toyin-Ojo, stated that the decision was born of her willingness to help and assists the needy around her. 

Mrs Mary Martha Toyin-Ojo used the opportunity to ask for more information on the said subject. 

Earlier, while speaking at the event before cutting the tape for the commissioning, the wife of Her Excellency, Professor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, described Governor Oyebanji as a grass root politician.

She hailed the wives of the LCDA and LGA Chairmen in Ado Ekiti for making themselves relevant and impactful in their various offices and capacities. 

She called on the supporters of the Governor in the State and the APC as a party to ensure that the forthcoming campaigns are made issue based. 

“If BAO did not do well, I won’t come here at all. BAO has no doubt done well for bagging different awards within the space of few months in the year”.
