The Governing Council of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI) has appointed Dr. Margaret Bosede Omisope as the institution’s second substantive Bursar.
Her appointment was approved at the Council’s statutory meeting held on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Dr. Omisope is a seasoned accounting professional with decades of experience in university financial management and administration.
According to the University, her appointment is in recognition of her professional competence, academic distinction and long-standing service in the university system.
An indigene of Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Omisope started her education at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School, Ado-Ekiti, where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate in 1980.
She attended Christ Girls’ School, Ado-Ekiti and Abadina College, University of Ibadan for her secondary education.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University) in 1998 and an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti (now EKSU) in 2003.

She later obtained an MSc in Accounting from Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo in 2022, and a PhD in Accounting from the same university in 2026.
A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Dr. Omisope is also a member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Public Management of Nigeria, the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria. She also holds a certification from the Bureau of Public Procurement obtained in 2013.
Dr. Omisope began her career in university administration in 1999 as Accountant II in the Bursary Department of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB). Through diligence and meritorious service, she rose to the rank of Deputy Bursar I in 2024, having served in various divisions of the Bursary. She also served as Acting Managing Director of FUNAAB Microfinance Bank.
She is expected to bring her wealth of experience, professional expertise and academic depth to bear on the prudent management of the University’s financial resources.
Dr. Omisope will succeed the outgoing Bursar whose tenure expires on January 5, 2027. Her tenure will commence on January 6, 2027.
