“Discipline Is Non-Negotiable” — CP Falade Warns Safer Highway Unit Against Extortion

The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, has warned officers of the Safer Highway Unit against extortion and misconduct, stressing that discipline remains non-negotiable in policing.

CP Falade gave the warning on Tuesday, during a meeting with personnel of the unit. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abutu Sunday, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen.

Addressing the officers, CP Falade described discipline as the foundation of effective policing and urged them to uphold integrity, accountability, and professionalism at all times.

He issued a stern warning against corruption, extortion, and other unlawful practices, reiterating the Command’s zero-tolerance stance on indiscipline. “Any officer found guilty of actions that damage the image of the Nigeria Police Force will face sanctions under existing laws and police regulations,” he said.

The Commissioner also reminded the personnel of their constitutional duty to protect the fundamental rights of citizens while discharging lawful duties. He emphasized that fairness, justice, and respect for the rule of law must guide all policing activities.

CP Falade charged Safer Highway officers to remain courteous, vigilant, and committed to securing road users across Ekiti State, while maintaining the highest professional standards in public interactions.

He reassured residents of the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led, people-oriented policing, noting that any misconduct by personnel would be addressed promptly through established disciplinary procedures.
