Doctored Image: NUJ Ekiti Says No Endorsement for PDP Guber Candidate… Says Image AI-Generated Photo

Our attention has been drawn to an image circulating on social media and other platforms that falsely claims to show stakeholders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, endorsing Dr. Wole Oluyede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Ekiti.

We wish to state categorically that the image is AI-generated and the claim attached to it is false, misleading, and mischievous.

The individuals in the background of the photo are leaders and members of NUJ, Ekiti State Council. The original image was taken during the NUJ Secretariat’s May Congress when Ambassador Dare Bejide, the ADC governorship candidate, visited the Council to present his manifesto ahead of the upcoming election. That authentic image was digitally altered to push a false narrative.

For clarity: Dr. Wole Oluyede, the PDP governorship candidate, has not visited the NUJ Council Secretariat, and at no time did NUJ leaders or ADC stakeholders endorse any candidate as portrayed in the doctored image.

We urge members of the public to disregard the image and the accompanying claims. Please verify information through credible, official sources before sharing or acting on it.
