Speaking after administering the oath to the students during the Matriculation Ceremony for the 2022/2023 academic session, Dr. Temitope Alake advised the newly admitted students of the Institution to be guided by the Polytechnic’s regulations and shun any act that could distrupt the Institution’s academic calendar.

The Rector, in his maiden Matriculation Address charged tthe students on the need for them to know it will no longer be business as usual as students caught in the act of indiscipline would be made to face the full wrath of the law.

Speaking further, Dr. Alake revealed that his leadership of the Institution will continue to intensify efforts towards entrenching both moral and academic standard, adding that during his own time, he will not allow anything that will aid or compromise or stain the image of the Institution.

The Rector added that, he was delighted  to inform the new students  that,  the Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti remain a top choice as one of the most sought after Tertiary Institutions by JAMB admission seeking candidates willing to enroll into any   of the 74 accredited programmes, as approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) at both the ND and HND levels.

“We are poised to push for the accreditation of more programmes by the grace of God. You will all agree with me therefore that this Institution is quite synonymous with high standards and focus for the best.

Dr Alake reiterated his appeal to the students, tasking them to be law abiding and desist from bad groups, which could lure them into social vices that may ruin their academic career.

He also warned them against damaging the school properties or unlawfully reconnecting or partitioning facilities of the Institution saying any student caught in such unlawful act would be arrested and prosecuted.

“Let me also counsel you to always remember that the distance between today’s matriculation and convocation ceremony is quite long and it is important that the journey ends successfully. To end well, it is essential that you see your matriculation today both as a unique opportunity to aim for and attain higher academic heights and equip yourself for the best.

Dr. Alake urged the students to familiarize themselves with Information Communication Technology, beyond their respective classrooms, as the society can hardly do many things in this age without good knowledge of ICT.

“Following global adoption of ICT, the Polytechnic has bluntly refused to be left out in its prevailing waves especially the positive aspect of the usage and we are poised to train our students to align with its reality so that their professional relevance will not be threatened hereafter.

In a separate interviews, some of the students thanked God for the grace to attain another level in their academic careers with a promise to work hard to victory at the end of the programme.

Highpoint of the ceremony was the special recognition and reward for 63 outstanding students who came top of their ND I and HND I classes during the 2021/2022 Academic Session.
