FUOYE: 91 First Class Graduates Sets To Convocate Out Of 3,914 Graduands

A total of 91 first class Graduates are set to be convocated at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti out of the grand total of 3,914 Graduands who will exit the University’s Campus at Oye Ekiti in Ekiti State on Saturday.

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, FUOYE, Professor Abayomi Fasina made the above known on Monday while addressing the men of the pen profession at the Senate Chamber located within the Administrative Block of the University.

According to the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Professor Abayomi Fasina, he said, “a total number of 3,914 Graduands are set to be graduated from the Institution with various degrees from the University”.

Fasina speaking further, gave the breakdown of the 3,914 Graduands to include 91 for the First Class Category; 1,423 for Second Class Upper; 1, 845 for Second Class Lower while 452 is for the Third Class.

Others includes 21 for the Post Graduate – PHD; 79 for Masters and 3 for the Post Graduate Diploma.

Fasina added that, the Institution which started with 512 Students in 2011 now has over 40, 000 Students from across 11 Faculties and 74 Programmes in the University.

He revealed further, that FUOYE is the 5th most subscribed University in the Country for the 2021/2022 Academic Session with over 45,000 admission seekers. He also said that, there are over 53,000 admission seekers in the 2022/2023 Academic Session who subscribed to FUOYE.

“We have part-time programme in 9 towns across Ekiti State and we have been enjoying good relationship with all our host communities in the last two years”.

He however listed some of the newly introduced academic programmes of FUOYE to include the College of Medicine, College of Agric-Business Management, Agriculture Extension and Rural Development and Data Science and Analytics. He also added that the National University Commission has given FUOYE go the ahead to start with 50 students.

“All the 74 programmes are fully accredited including professional programmes ICAN and all the bodies were really impressed.

“Our part time programmes are in 9 towns and in terms of community services, we are going to influence our environment. Also, anywhere the University is cited the town will be developed”.

He added that the school has 74 programmes and a workforce of nothing less than 2500 staffs.

“One of our staff by name Dr. Emmanuel, caught a big fish in Melinda Foundation to train prospective students and that has since started and its still running”.

“A leader who cannot lead by example is not a leader, that is what its called Administration Academics, it’s not about talking theories only”, he pointed out.
