INEC Rolls Out PVC Collection in Ekiti

… Sets June 2–11 Window for Voters

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ekiti State has begun distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as of today, Tuesday, 2nd June 2026. 

The Commission is urging all registered voters who are yet to pick up their cards to take advantage of the collection window.

PVC collection will happen in two phases: 

• Phase 1: 2nd June – 8th June 2026 – Collection at Registration Areas/Wards across all 16 Local Government Areas in Ekiti State 

• Phase 2: 9th June – 11th June 2026 – Collection at INEC Local Government Area offices 

INEC however emphasized that the PVC is not just an ID card but the essential tool for democratic participation. It empowers citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote and influence the direction of their communities and the nation.

Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the Resident Electoral Commissioner for INEC in Ekiti State, noted that civic responsibility goes beyond registration. “Collecting your PVC is a personal duty and a vital step toward meaningful electoral participation,” he said.

The Commission restated its commitment to credible, transparent, and inclusive elections. It also called on community leaders, youth groups, religious bodies, and other stakeholders to help raise awareness and mobilize eligible voters to collect their PVCs before the deadline.
