Abuja – Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, the Chairperson of the NECO Governing Board, delivered a stirring goodwill message at the National Examinations Council’s (NECO) Silver Jubilee Anniversary, unveiling a bold roadmap centered on “Merit, Integrity, Opportunity” for the next 25 years.

Speaking on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Conference Centre in Garki, FCT-Abuja, Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, the Chairperson of the NECO Governing Board, hailed the milestone as a tribute to staff dedication, candidates’ resilience, and the trust of parents, schools, and the education community.

“NECO was established to deliver fair, credible, and timely examinations that open doors for Nigeria’s youth,” she stated. Over 25 years, the council has expanded capacity, bolstered integrity, and adapted to evolving challenges without compromising standards.

Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, the Chairperson of the NECO Governing Board, emphasized core values of integrity, accuracy, inclusivity, and accountability as the “compass” ensuring result comparability and public confidence.

She extended gratitude to stakeholders: teachers and administrators for ethical conduct; policymakers, regulators, and tech partners for innovation; and Nigeria’s youth, urging discipline, curiosity, and perseverance.

Looking ahead, Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu, the Chairperson of the NECO Governing Board, pledged NECO’s commitment to “upholding top standards of examination fairness and security.

Expanding access for every qualified candidate, embracing innovation in exam delivery, results, and engagement.
