Ogun Police Arrest Two Linked to Edo Kidnapping, Murder Case

Two suspects arrested in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, have been linked to a kidnapping and murder case involving two hostages in Okada, Edo State, according to the Ogun State Police Command.

In a statement issued by DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Command located at Eleweran in Abeokuta, on 6th of June, 2026; revealed that, “the breakthrough follows a June 4, 2026 press statement announcing the arrest of two men by Nigeria Forest Security Service personnel in the Atiba area of Ijebu-Ode”. 

Intelligence-driven investigation by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit has since identified them as Gafaru Adamu, 25, and Muhammed Sanni, 20.

Police say preliminary findings show both men are wanted in Edo State for a kidnapping and murder reported in Okada. They are believed to be part of a seven-man syndicate connected to the case.

During the investigation, operatives recovered a pair of Police camouflage uniforms and three mobile phones. All exhibits have been documented and secured for further inquiry.

Considering the alleged offences occurred outside Ogun, the suspects and recovered items will be transferred to the Edo State Police Command, which has jurisdiction over the matter, in line with inter-state policing procedures.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, praised the operatives for their professionalism and swift intelligence work. 

He stressed that Ogun will not serve as a hideout or transit point for criminals.

CP Ojajuni reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and inter-state collaboration to boost security. 

He urged residents to stay vigilant and share timely, credible information with law enforcement.
