WORLD MALARIA DAY: Ogun Police, Life Projects Partners To Provide Free Medical Services

The Ogun State Police Command has partnered with The Life Projects and other corporate organisations to organise a free medical outreach in commemoration of the 2026 World Malaria Day.
The programme, held at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ibara, Abeokuta, on Saturday was designed to provide essential healthcare services, malaria testing and treatment for police officers, their families and civilian staff.
The outreach, themed “Driven to End Malaria: Now We Can, Now We Must,” featured free medical consultations, malaria parasite tests, distribution of anti-malaria drugs and Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets to beneficiaries.
Health education sessions were also conducted on environmental sanitation and preventive measures to curb the spread of malaria within the barracks and neighbouring communities.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police in Ogun state, CP Bode Ojajuni, said the initiative reflects the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the principle that health is wealth, noting that a healthy workforce is vital to effective policing and public safety.
He also appreciated The Life Projects and other partners for their support towards the wellbeing of officers and personnel of the Command.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, says the outreach formed part of activities marking this year’s World Malaria Day and reaffirmed the command’s resolve to promote the health of its workforce and the larger community.
