Ekiti: Head Of Service Bows Out, Reads Out Achievements

The outgoing Head of Service of Ekiti State, Engineer Sunday Olanrewaju Komolafe has read out his achievements in office as he bows out from an active service from the employment of the Ekiti State Government during a press conference held on Wednesday to interact with journalists in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.

The Head of Service, Engineer Sunday Olanrewaju Komolafe during his address, expressed gratitude to God and to the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji who found him worthy to be appointed as the 10th substantive Administrative Head of the State’s Civil Service on the 21st of August, 2023. 

Highlighting his success story as an Head of Service, Engineer Komolafe stated some of his achievements in office to include the sustenance of productive synergy with government agencies, civil society organizations, labour unions and the private sector players.  

Adding, Komolafe revealed he ensure the resuscitation of the civil service week celebration in December 2023, canvassed the approval and payment of the sum of N15,000 and N10,000 as wage award for active public servants and pensioners respectively as well as the continuation of the Monthly Keep Fit exercise for the public servants in the State. 

The outgoing Head of Service also added that he facilitated the participation of the Ekiti State delegates to attend the Technical session of the National Council on Establishments held at Abuja in November 2023 as well as the meeting of the 45th National Council of Establishments held in Bauchi State in December 2023. 

His other achievements are the procurement of 35 units of Laptops Computers by the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery across the Ministries, Departments and Agencies to ease collation of data in the State Civil Service, setting up of task force on Assessment of government vehicles with a view to ameliorating the shortage of vehicles by the MDA’s, regularization of 326 appointments in the State Civil Service, secured the Governor’s approval for the reinstatement of 15 staff laid off at the Ekiti State House of Assembly, approval of transfer of service of 8 eligible officers, appointment of 4 Deputy Auditors – General at the state and local government Auditor – General Office as well as securing the approval of the Governor for the conduct of 2022/2023 promotion exercise for eligible officers to enhance their career progression in the service. 

Others includes getting approval for the payment of the sum of N1.2 billion as gratuities, payment of 3 months arrears to the State Pensioners amounting to over N1.4 billion as well as the total of 420 civil servants who benefited from car loan and a total of 1,634 workers who also received housing loans among others.
