… As First Lady, Remi Tinubu To Grace Alma Mata’s Convocation

The Executive Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has pledged total support towards the development of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, Ondo.

He also expressed his readiness to attend the 35th convocation ceremony which would be attended by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

The Governor made the pledge on Wednesday during the courtesy visit made to his office in Akure by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council. Hon. Mrs. Ganiyat Adeola Yusuf and Management of the University.

The Chairman was accompanied by Hon. Adedapo Lam Adesina, a Government Appointee on the Council; the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Akintunde, the Acting Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Olufemi Abayomi Olajuyigbe; the Registrar, Mrs. Olufisayo Fakorede; the Acting Librarian, Dr. (Mrs). Adeola Afolabi and the Director, Information and Public Relations; Mrs. Oluseto Olatuyi.

The Governor congratulated the Chairman on her appointment as the pioneer Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, as well as other members of Council of the University.

He appreciated the Chairman’s vision to grow the University to an enviable position, among Universities in Nigeria, and Sub-Sahara Africa, and pledged that being an institution domiciled in Ondo State, its indigenes will benefit from its activities, while the state would continue to support its development.

The Governor observed that the State has four tertiary institutions, which has a lot of financial implication for the state, he, however, noted that the assistance rendered by Federal Government has helped the state to record great achievements in development.

Earlier in her speech, the Chairman of AFUED Governing Council, Hon. Yusuf informed the governor that the Council came to informed him of their appointment as members of the Council, and come under his umbrellas as a father to guide them.

Hon. Yusuf also used the opportunity to intimate the Governor of the forthcoming 35th Convocation ceremony of the University coming up on 23rd of May, 2025 where a doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) will be awarded to the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu.

The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of gifts to the governor by the Council Chairman.
