Ekiti CP Commends Joint Security Effort as Church Attack Victims Regain Freedom

The Ekiti State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of victims kidnapped on April 28, 2026, during an attack on Christ Apostolic Church in Eda-Oniyo.

The Command said the rescue followed sustained intelligence-led operations involving the Nigeria Police Force, the Military, other security agencies, the Amotekun Corps, local hunters, and the Ekiti State Government.

The victims have been taken to a hospital for medical evaluation and treatment to ensure their condition is stable.

Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, commended the professionalism and collaboration of all security stakeholders involved in the operation.

He thanked Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and the Ekiti State Government for their support, and praised residents for providing timely and credible information that aided the rescue.

Efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend those behind the abduction. CP Michael reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to remain vigilant.
