Uba Sani Leads APC Campaign Launch In Ekiti, Declares Oyebanji’s Victory ‘Sacrosanct’

The Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani led the All Progressives Congress, APC, campaign launch in Ekiti on Monday as the party flagged off the re-election campaign of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, at the Pavilion, New Iyin Road, Ado Ekiti, declaring Oyebanji’s victory ‘sacrosanct’.
The event drew a massive turnout of party members from across Ekiti, supporters, and well-wishers from other states. The venue was packed with political heavyweights and key stakeholders in Ekiti politics.
Chairman of the Flag-off Campaign Council and Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, described Oyebanji’s victory as “sacrosanct,” stating that the governor’s achievements speak for themselves and that his re-election bid is people-centered.
Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Chairman of the Ekiti 2026 Campaign Council, speaking on behalf of the State Campaign Council and Ekiti National Legislators, said all support is behind Oyebanji because “he understands the need for unity.”
He described the Governor as “a leader and a builder who is not only building physical bridges but also bringing all Ekiti people together,” noting that Oyebanji has managed relationships with six predecessors well. He assured that the seven-week campaign will be violence-free.
Former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi thanked Ekiti people and guests, calling Oyebanji “a child of destiny.”
He recalled initial reservations from some stakeholders when Oyebanji was first presented as the party’s choice, but said many are now supporters of his good work. “Oyebanji has not disappointed the party, the state, and the country,” Fayemi said, stressing that this is a “campaign of record and principle, not violence.”
Former Governor Engr. Segun Oni urged Ekiti people to set a record by delivering more than half a million votes for the APC.
Former Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose, a PDP chieftain, declared: “that he remains a PDP man but attended the APC flag off campaign to help him fulfil the Ekiti agenda. “I have stood by the Ekiti Agenda with the face of Oyebanji. I can’t support an opposition that wants to ruin Ekiti,” Fayose said, adding that opposition struggles will begin only after Oyebanji’s re-election.
Former Governor Otunba Niyi Adebayo stated that Oyebanji’s re-election is “a demand and desire of all Ekiti people.”
In his keynote address, Campaign Council Chairman, Governor Uba Sani said the flag-off was “not just a campaign but a renewal of covenant, leadership, commitment and good governance.”
He said the election is about direction for young people and “people-centered leadership measured by performance, not promises.”
He maintained that Oyebanji has fulfilled his campaign promises, touched all sectors, and is “one of the best governors in Ekiti State.”
Describing him as humble, Sani added that the election carries “global significance” as its outcome speaks to the 2027 general elections.
He urged Ekiti residents to support both Oyebanji and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his remarks, Governor Oyebanji attributed his administration’s success first to God and then to President Tinubu, whose support he said enabled the completion of key projects.
He thanked party leaders and supporters, and urged the APC to work towards delivering over 500,000 votes. He declared: “Operation win all the units in Ekiti State.”
APC National Chairman Professor Nentawe whom Dr Isaac Kekemeke stood in for, maintained that Ekiti is thriving under the current administration. “Why then is the need to change the administration?” he asked, insisting Oyebanji’s re-election is vital because he has impacted all sectors.
Dignitaries at the flag off include the Ondo State Governor, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa; the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma; the Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo; the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo and the Delta State Governor, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Also present were the Ekiti First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji; the Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Mrs Monisade Afuye and the former Deputy Governor’s of the State, Professor Modupe Adelabu among others.
