Ekiti 2026: I Am Set To Take Over Ekiti From Oyebanji – Wole Oluyede

The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Wole Oluyede has declared that he is set to take over from the incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji in the June 20, 2026 election.

Oluyede, while reacting to the judgement delivered today by Justice P C Obiora at the Appeal Court, Akure division on the outcome of the gubernatorial primary conducted on November 8 which one of the aspirants, Prince Funsho Ayeni dissatisfied with the outcome, welcomed the development as a victory for the overall people of Ekiti State.

In a statement through Dr Wole Oluyede’s special Adviser, Media, Gani Salau and made available to Journalists in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State extended his hands of fellowship to Funso Ayeni and urged him to join forces with him to take over Ekiti from Oyebanji.

“Now, I am extending my hands of fellowship to my brother, Prince Funsho Ayeni to join me and let us work together and win the June 20 gubernatorial election.”

“With today’s judgement at the Court of Appeal, Akure and the last week judgement that compelled INEC to accept and publish my name as the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the 2026 election, we can now look towards reclaiming Ekiti State from these few people”.

“Our major political opponent is the All Progressive Congress and its candidate and we must tell them that Ekiti doesn’t want them again”.

Oluyede used the occasion to assure the people of Ekiti State to get ready for a good and purposeful government that will have the interest of Ekiti people at heart.

“I now appeal to Ekiti people to remain steadfast and continue to work assiduously and ensure that we take this state back from the few who have lorded themselves on us by cornering our common wealth “.
