The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Alabi has honoured the first lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi with the Chieftaincy title of Akorewolu of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom.
Officially conferring the Chieftaincy title on Erelu Bisi Fayemi, the wife of the Executive Governor of Ekiti State at the Palace of the former Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Ajibade Alabi explained in his remarks that the honour was to appreciate her for the benefits that the Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom received from the government of Dr. Kayode Fayemi in the State.

According to Oba Alabi, he said, the Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom has enjoyed an unprecedented development under the Fayemi’s government. He added that, it was during the administration of Dr. Kayode Fayemi that he as Alawe became the Chairman of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers for the first time in the history of the Ilawe Kingdom and Ekiti State.
Giving her acceptance speech after she was installed as the Akorewolu of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom, Erelu Bisi Fayemi thanked the King, the leaders and the people of Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom for the honour done to her. She also appreciated Oba Alabi for acknowledging the various contributions and interventions of the Governor who happened to be his own husband to the community.
She pledged her continuous support for Ilawe Ekiti Kingdom now that she is now part of it. She also disclosed that Ekiti and Ilawe Ekiti in particular would enjoy more dividends of democracy under the incoming administration of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji.
Present at her installation are the Traditional Rulers from Isan Ekiti who also double as the current Chairman of the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers, Ayede Ekiti, Itaji Ekiti and Are Ekiti.
Others included the former Deputy Governor of the State, Professor Modupe Adelabu; the current Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi and also the incoming Deputy Governor, Chief Mrs. Monisade Afuye among other dignitaries from all walks of life.
