Opeyemi Bamidele Sets To Chair Igede Ekiti Day 2024 N500 Million Launching – Planning Committee

All is now set for the Senator representing the Ekiti Central Senatorial District of the State, Mr Michael Opeyemi Bamidele to serve as the Chairman for the grand finale for the longed week activities, which included the launching of the sum of N500 million and the co of honorary chieftaincy titles on some deserving personalities during the celebrations of the Igede Ekiti Day 2024.

The Chairman, Planning Committee of the 2024 Igede-Ekiti Day, Dr Sunday Oluyemi stated the above while addressing the Press Conference marking the commencement of the one week activities already scheduled and mapped out for the 2024 event at the Palace of the Onigede of Igede Ekiti Kingdom, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru.

According to Dr Oluyemi, he stated, “the week long event which has been approved by the Onigede, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru and tagged: “From Glory to Glory” will witness array of events like cultural display and sundry activities starting on Monday, 21st to Sunday, 27th October, 2024″.

Highlighting the week longed activities, Dr Oluyemi said, “the activities started very early on Monday morning (today), 21st of October, 2024 with a Country Race which kicked off as early as 6:30am and ended 7:30 am, after which the town’s community prayer sessions was held at the Onigede’s Palace in Igede Ekiti Kingdom. 

Oluyemi said, “on Tuesday, 22nd October, 2024 by 9:00am, there would be an indoor games by 9:00am. By 10:00am, he pointed out that there would a free eye glasses and drugs will also be given.

“By Wednesday, 23rd of October, 2024, he notified that there would be a quiz competition among some selected Secondary Schools by 4:00 pm.

Also, “on Thursday, 24th of October, 2024; the Miss Igede Ekiti 2024 contest will hold by 4:00 pm while on Friday, 25th of October, 2024, a general sanitation exercise will hold by 8:00 am, a Jumat Service by 1:00 pm and the final football competition will hold at the Ekiti Baptist High School by 4:00 pm on the same day.

“The grand finale for the week longed activities is expected to take place on Saturday, the 26th of October, 2024 starting from 11:00 am in which Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele will Chair and some noted figures within and outside the community will receive honorary chieftaincy titles. 

“The event will climax on Sunday after the Church Thanksgiving to be held at the First Baptist Church, Igede Ekiti by 10:00 am”.
