BINUKONU Scores Oyebanji’s Administration Low On Ekiti Development 

BINUKONU, a foremost Yoruba socio-cultural group, has condemned Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s administration in Ekiti State, citing a disconnect between the state’s revenue and physical development.

The group’s quarterly “State Peer Review” report, presented in Ibadan, highlights the administration’s failure to deliver meaningful development despite receiving substantial federal allocations, internally generated revenue, and donor funds.

According to the report, the state’s infrastructure, including roads, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions, is in a deplorable condition. The Oyebanji administration has also been accused of prioritizing cash-for-endorsement programs over critical sectors like education, healthcare, and agriculture.

Stakeholders are calling on the government to account for billions of naira that have flowed into the state and present a transparent scorecard of its achievements.

The report also questions the state government’s decision to use President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s name to score political goals, suggesting that without the federal government’s efforts, the state government wouldn’t have had the opportunity to do so.

BINUKONU is urging critical stakeholders to break their silence and demand accountability from the government, believing that the people of Ekiti State deserve better governance and transparency.

The report’s findings have sparked concerns about the Oyebanji administration’s ability to deliver development and improve the lives of Ekiti State citizens.
