NPC Advocates For Community Support Ahead Of 2025/2026 Mini NDHS In Ikere LGA

The National Population Commission, NPC, Ekiti State, led by State Director, Mr. Olayomi Gbenga Abayomi, has paid an advocacy visit to Ikere Local Government Area to strengthen preparations for the 2025/2026 Nigeria Mini Demographic and Health Survey, NDHS.

The visit, which included members of the Commission’s Management Team and Public Affairs Personnel, was aimed to engage local stakeholders and secure community cooperation for a smooth survey operations in Ikere LGA.

During the visit, the NPC delegation met with the Ikere Census and Population-Related Committee to discuss collaboration, community support, and logistics necessary for the survey’s success. 

The discussions focused on strategies to ensure effective data collection and the safety of field personnels.

Following the meeting, the Committee formally introduced the NPC team at the Ogoga-in-Council meeting, presided over by His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adu-Alagbado, Ogoga of Ikere-Ekiti and Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers, Ekiti State. 

The monarch praised the Commission for the visit, offered guidance, and pledged his support to ensure a successful survey in his domain.

Mr. Abayomi emphasized the critical role of community cooperation, urging traditional leaders and residents to assist in facilitating the survey. 

He also highlighted the need to safeguard NDHS personnel during field operations.

The advocacy visit concluded positively, with all stakeholders promising active collaboration and logistical support, reinforcing the commitment to achieving a seamless and successful 2025/2026 Mini NDHS in Ikere LGA.
