Governor Oyebanji approved the appointment of the new Ekiti State Traditional Council Chairman who happens to be the current Olojudo Of Ido Ekiti in Ido Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State according to a statement signed by the Deputy Governor of the State, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, on Monday, for a period of two years beginning from today 1st of August, 2023 to 1st August, 2025.
According to the Deputy Governor, she said, the appointment was made following the expiration of the tenure of the Onisan of Isan- Ekiti, Oba Gabriel Ayodele Adejuwon, who presided over the council for two years.
The statement revealed that Oba Adejuwon, who succeeded Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi, presided over the council between July 28, 2021 and July 28,2023.
The government appreciated the traditional rulers for the prayers, support and immesurable contributions to the upliftment of Ekiti in all spheres.
The statement said: “The government congratulates the council members on this feat, and pray for a successful tenure for the new leadership.
“The government appreciates the traditional rulers for their solid support for the outgone Chairman, while also pleading that similar gesture should be extended to the new one”.
The government pledged unalloyed respect for the traditional rulers across the state regardless of classes to build an institution the citizens can all be proud of.
