Three suspects arrested in connection with the woman recently robbed and killed at the Fabian Junction in Ado Ekiti have been paraded before the press on Friday at the Ekiti State Police Command Headquarters.
Parading the three suspects, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, for the Ekiti State Police Command, DSP Sunday Abutu while narrating the circumstances surrounding the arrest of the three suspects, said, on the 6th of July, 2024 at about 6:30pm, a 56 year old woman, one Adeyemi Aina, while standing at the Fabian Junction, NTA Road, Ado-Ekiti, was attacked by an assailant who rode on a motorcycle, dispossessed her of about One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira before she was eventually shot dead while they fled the scene of the crime.
Abutu explained further that, in the cause of investigating the matter, one Omowaye Ayodele was traced to Akure, the Ondo State capital on the 26th of July, 2024 where he was arrested for a case of kidnapping and murder, and upon interrogating him, Omowaye Ayodele confessed that the victim, late Adeyemi Aina was shot and robbed in his presence by one Busari Lookman.
Luck however ran out of the prime suspect in the murder of Adeyemi Aina when he (Busari Lookman) was also arrested by the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS).

During his interrogation, Busari Lookman confessed to the crime and mentioned one Onyema John Sunday and Ojo Temidayo a.k.a YELLOW as part of his accomplices who were subsequently arrested and equally confessed committing the crime.
A search conducted by the police to the house and premises of Busari Lookman helped to discover one black colour cardigan worn by the suspect during the operation.
In a another development, six people were also arrested for conspiracy and armed robbery by the officers and men of the Rapid Response Squad, who swooped on hoodlums in their different hideouts.

During their operations, one Ajisafe Doyin a.k.a D-MONEY, Olabanji Joshua a.k.a BJ, Fasusi Femi a.k.a F.M, Adewale Femi a.k.a F.M, Adeolodi Olayosi a.k.a PEDRO and Babalola Ezekiel were apprehended and then, arrested.
While interrogating the six suspects, it was confirmed that they have attacked and robbed nothing less than nine POS Operators between the 19th of June, 2024 and 5th of August, 2024 at different locations within Ado Ekiti.
Also, the suspects confessed to have robbed P.O.S Operators at Ori-Apata, Adebayo, Basiri, Better Life, Olaoluwa, Oke-Ila, Housing and Moferere, all in Ado-Ekiti metropolis.

Investigation revealed that they were in their various criminal hideouts planning to launch more attacks on P.O.S Operators and other innocent traders when they were arrested. One locally made single barrel gun loaded with one live cartridge was recovered from them.
While all the suspects arrested will be charged to court accordingly, effort will definitely be intensified to ensure the arrest of the few others who are currently on the run.
The Ekiti State Police Command urged the residents of the State to be law abiding and go about their lawful businesses without any form of apprehension.
